Description
Got My 4! is a Bible game for children, young adults, and families, with the goal of helping people become more familiar with images the Bible uses to describe Christians.
This product includes:
- 48 picture cards (12 images)
- 6 wooden bars
- 1 Instruction sheet showing 3 different ways to play (English and Vietnamese)
This is a special game that combines many different ways of playing. SU would like to introduce to you 3 of those ways:
- Method 1: Leave 4
- Deal out 6 cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed in the middle.
- Round 1: Each player chooses one of their cards to place face down in front of them so the others can’t see. After that they pass the rest of their cards to the person on their right while taking the cards from the person on their left and taking another card from the pile in the middle.
- Round 2: This round, each player will make sure to keep two cards face down. The players can take their old card back and change it out or place down 1 more new card (as long as they end up with 2 cards face down). The goal is to end up with 4 of the same cards. The players pass the rest of their cards over to the player on their right while taking the cards from the player on their left and grabbing another card from the middle.
- Round 3: Same as before, everyone keeps 3 cards face down.
- Round 4: Same as before, everyone keeps 4 cards face down.
- If any player has 4 of the same cards laid in front of them, they yell out: “GOT MY 4!” to win. In the event that after 4 rounds no player has won, the game keeps going until someone gets 4 of the same cards.
- Important note: Each player can only keep at most 4 cards, no matter how many rounds the game goes on for.
2. Method 2: Keep 4
- Arrange the wooden boards in the middle of the players. Place 1 less board than there are players.
- Deal out 6 cards to everyone. Place the remaining cards to the left of the starting player.
- The starting player will take a card, compare it with the cards they already have in their hand and choose any one card to discard by placing that card face down next to them that the person on their right has to take. Continue playing this way, grabbing a card, discarding a card – keeping 6 cards in your hand.
- The players after them also do the same; they take the card that was just placed down next to them, compare it with their hand, and choose one to discard face down for the person on their right.
- The game keeps going until one player has 4 of the same cards in their hand. That person will quietly take 1 of the wood boards and be the winner (with the requirement that they keep the correct amount of 6 cards in their hand).
- As for the remaining players, whenever someone realizes that one of the wooden boards has been taken, they should quickly try to take one as well. Whoever is left without a wooden board loses the round.
- Note 1: If all of the cards are gone, the starting player can start picking from the cards that all the other players have discarded.
- Note 2: To make it fair, each player takes a turn being the starting player.
3. Method 3: Ask for 4
- Deal out 6 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards in the center.
- The starting player can ask any one person for 1 card that they need (so that they can get 4 of the same), by asking the question: “May I ask for a _____?”
*Note: You can’t ask for a card you don’t have. - If they have the card they are asked for, that person must give all of that type of card. If they don’t have any, that person says: “I don’t have any. Why don’t you go fish!” Then the player who asked has to take the first card from the top of the middle pile.
- Keep taking turns in the same way, each person asking 1 other player until someone has 4 of the same card.
- When a player has 4 of the same card, they will place their four cards down (face up).
- When the game ends, the winner is the player with the most sets of 4.
