Astrology is when people try to predict the future by looking at the stars, but the Bible tells us not to do this. Even though astrology has been around for a long time, the Bible says it’s not right. For example, King Manasseh, who ruled Judah, committed many sins, including astrology. The Bible describes him as doing evil by worshiping other gods and using astrology to try to predict the future. This was against God’s commandments because Manasseh looked to the stars for guidance instead of trusting in God, which led him and the people away from true worship (2 Kings 21:3).
Who made the stars? God did! The Bible says God created all the stars and knows each one by name (Isaiah 40:26; Psalm 147:4). He even put them into groups called constellations, like the Bear and Orion (Job 9:9).
Why did God make stars? To help us tell the difference between day and night and to mark time (Genesis 1:14). To light up the sky (Genesis 1:15-16). To display His amazing power and glory (Psalm 8:3; 19:1).
What about the wise men and the star? The wise men saw a special star that led them to Jesus. God used this star to guide them, even though they didn’t know everything. They thought the new King would be in Jerusalem, but He was actually in Bethlehem, just as the Bible said.
This story shows us that the best way to know God’s message is through the Bible. Let’s keep learning about God from His Word!
