NARRATOR: During His time carrying out His ministry in the world, Jesus taught the people full of power and wisdom. Because of this, people from all over knew about Him, and the people crowded together to look for Him, following Him from hamlet to village, from the mountains to the plains, from the countryside to the city. Jesus preached so that they could hear the truth, multiplied the bread for them to eat, healed the sick, helped them catch fish, and many other things. If we were to compare Jesus with the image of a shepherd, then the people were the happiest and most fulfilled sheep to ever exist, because they had Jesus to care for their every need. Oh, actually, it’s not just a comparison. Jesus Himself asserted that: “I am the good shepherd.” Before stopping there, Jesus drew them a picture of the true shepherd and the false shepherds. This illustration is recorded in John 10.
NARRATOR: This is the sheep pen. This is a good shepherd. Whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd.
SHEPHERD: “I know my own and my own know me, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. “
– Ti Ti! Be Be! Xiu Xiu! (*bleat*)
NARRATOR: After bringing all the sheep out, the shepherd goes ahead as the sheep follow along, because the sheep know their shepherd’s voice.
TI TI, BE BE, XIU XIU:
– 1, 2 baby sheep. We walk and bleat to the field of green
1, 2 baby sheep. We walk and bleat to waters clear and clean
One white, one black, one yellow
Step by step together we bleat
SHEPHERD: Truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. I am the door, if anyone enters by Me will be saved. They will enter and meet with green fields. I have come so that the sheep may have life and have it abundantly.
TI TI, BE BE, AND XIU XIU:
– “The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
SHEPHERD: “And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
NARRATOR: (The thief used green grass to trick the sheep into coming with him, and after that…) “He who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.” But the sheep don’t listen to them. “A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”
THIEF: Steal, kill, and destroy! Steal, kill, and destroy! Muahahahaha!
TI TI: Where’s the good shepherd?
BE BE: I need the good shepherd!
XIU XIU: Good shepherd!!
NARRATOR: “He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees”.
WOLF: Bite, tear, eat. Bite, tear, eat. Bite, tear, eat! Hahahahahaha!
NARRATOR: “The wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.”
TI TI: Aaah! I’m afraid on this day of disaster.
BE BE: Shepherd! My life is being threatened!
XIU XIU: Please save us from misfortune!
SHEPHERD:
– No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.
– Evildoers, depart from me!
– Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid. (to the sheep)
– I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
TI TI: You are our Shepherd
BE BE: You are the true good Shepherd
XIU XIU: The Shepherd who lays down His life for us.
SHEPHERD: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live”. “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
TI TI, BE BE, AND XIU XIU:
“Yeah! The true Shepherd will be with us forever!”
“You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.”
