In a certain family, two brothers inherited their father’s land. They divided the land, each taking their own field. As time went on, the older brother got married and had six children, while the younger brother remained single. One night, the younger brother couldn’t sleep and thought, “It’s not fair that my brother only has half the land to work, especially since he has six kids to take care of, while I have only myself.”
That night, he decided to take a bundle of wheat over the hill to his brother’s farm. He quietly left the wheat and returned home, feeling very happy and content.

That same evening, the older brother also couldn’t sleep. He thought, “It’s not fair that my brother only has half the land to work. When I get old, my wife and kids can take care of me. At least he could sell more produce now to support himself when he gets older.” So, that night, he secretly brought a bundle of wheat over the hill and left it for his brother. After returning home, he felt very happy and content. The next morning, the younger brother was surprised and confused to see that his yield of produce hadn’t changed at all. That night, he decided to take an even bigger pile of wheat, stack it on a cart, and slowly pull it past the field and up the hill to his brother’s house. At the top of the hill, in the moonlight, he saw a figure in the distance also pushing a big cart full of wheat. When they recognized each other, they didn’t say a word. They ran to each other and gave each other a warm hug.
Almost all cultures around the world have similar stories about the love between brothers. It’s truly wonderful when brothers and sisters live out their love for each other! Acts of kindness and love, no matter how small, strengthen the bonds between family members and make our world a more caring place.
