One of the newer areas that the SU Vietnam Ministry has started is our English Camp programs both in Vietnam and abroad with the support of our friends, the SU ministries in other countries. The target demographic that SU is looking to reach are children 9 – 15 years old that are both learning English and can speak it. Through these camps, SU Vietnam hopes we can let the good in our children shine forth and bring both them and those good things out into the world, as well as to provide the opportunity for them to learn about and exchange culture among people from many different countries. Looking back at past camps help abroad, the changes we saw in our children has truly been a great encouragement to their parents and for SU as well. Many of the children even grew in self-confidence and were willing to help in future English camps after many years attending themselves.
In Vietnam, SU has set up English camps for children before – for those that know God and for those who don’t yet know Him – at English centers and international Christian schools. The children had a wonderful time together that certainly won’t be easy to forget: playing together, doing activities together, and learning about God’s Word together in English. We are so grateful for the grace God has shown us, allowing us to teach children about the truths of the Bible, as well as demonstrating what Christian love is like for them through these camps, all to bring them closer to Jesus.
SU hopes that we can lead many children to know about God and that we will be provided with many different methods and many different people to help bring them to Him!
