A child’s heart is like a blank sheet of paper that, if the Word of God is not being written on it, the whole world will try to find every way it can to fill that blank page with the wrong ideas. God wants His words to be carved onto everyone’s hearts. And children are those He especially wants to be instructed in His ways.
Even so, the reality is that the Vietnamese Church is lacking in materials that are both culturally relevant and methodical in their approach to teach the Word of God in a way that accurately reflects the context that children in Vietnam live in every day. However in 2018, after 7 years into our ministry of teaching children the Bible, The SU team, a young group of people, were inspired to dream bigger regarding our work of building up the next generation through God’s Word and contributing to the development of dedicated Christian families for God. The Sunday School Program is one of the goals that this ministry is working towards. As one of the pioneers in putting together local resources, we thank God because He has directed us in this ministry and given us His strength to continue in it. It’s taken us two years to complete this first set of materials. We thank God for His goodness as He prepared many people to help us at different times so that we could accomplish this task. Since then the SU Team has published a new Sunday School curriculum every year.
The Sunday School program is a year-long program for children aged 7 – 14. The materials for both teachers and students include the tools and resources needed for the entire length of study. This curriculum is not only exciting and original in its design, the lessons it teaches will lead to transformation. The lessons have been developed not with the purpose of instructing children how to better follow and obey Christian morals and ideals, but to help them create their own relationship with God so that He can lead them by the hand throughout their life’s journey.
In order to do this, SU Vietnam’s Sunday School curriculum will:
- Provide a fully-developed, effective and relatable tool to encourage teachers of young children to continue their work even if their churches can’t currently provide them with their own training programs or materials.
- Provide a set of tools that includes sections on BASIC THEOLOGICAL CONCEPTS, BIBLICAL KNOWLEDGE and PRACTICING A CHRISTIAN LIFE.
- Create A BRIDGE BETWEEN FAMILY AND CHURCH
For any churches or teachers that have a need for these resources, we will provide you with training. Through this training you yourselves will also be able to experience the truths that you will teach to your children.
