These days, young people play a vital role not only in the societal development of Vietnam as a whole, but within Vietnamese churches as well. As the Church continues to grow more and more every day, young people are the ones who are given the strongest expectations to hold on to and continue in the faith of those who have gone before and to do their part in building up the Church in a more comprehensive manner.
But how many young adults really have the opportunity to recognize and take hold of this calling? And what are the hindrances and challenges that young Christians have to face with more and more every day? How can we see the big picture that God has for young people who follow Him?
Responding to God’s calling, SUVN began with a dream to become a bridge between all denominations and all churches. These are where young people full of potential, young leaders, and Christians come together and seek God, build up new friendships, and pray for each other and for the people of Vietnam without discriminating between denomination, region, or any other thing. Looking back on our journey, we see that the barriers of religious differences have slowly been replaced with close friendship between hundreds of young adults who have come to attend these camps from over 30 different denominations and churches.

Continuing in this fashion, SU Vietnam summer camps have become a favorite summer destination for many young people for over 10 years with interesting and inspiring themes such as, “The door is still open”, “It’s time!”, “Determined to offer up”, “Wave”, “Higher – To our Greater Home”, “Continue in the Footsteps”, “Upgrade”, “Renew”, and “Courage”. Here, these many shared moments of fun and learning brought forth so much laughter and joy. Here, many activities and competitions helped these young people demonstrate their talents and knowledge, as well as learn and grow more as young men and women.

Also here, many lives heard the voice of God and were stirred by the Lord to pledge their hearts to Him. They returned home with God’s calling and began living out the roles that God has given them in their Church.

This unity is evidence of God’s love and a hope for the unity of God’s Church in Vietnam in the future. Together with SU, let’s help build up unity through prayer for one another and by encouraging the young adult groups in our churches to attend and contribute in these young adult camps, training courses, and conferences, as well as to take part in opportunities to serve in their community. Let’s allow young Christians in Vietnam to be called by God and be raised up and used for His Kingdom! This is our true desire!
